**Ko te kaupapa | About the role**
We are seeking a qualified Audiologist to work in our Outpatient Department team. The above role works with the Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand (HNZ) to improve health outcomes through advanced nursing practice, knowledge and skills, leadership and consultancy for patients Audiology treatment intervention. We welcome new graduates with appropriate tertiary qualification in Audiology as recognized by New Zealand Audiologists Society (NZAS) and who are passionate to work on their paediatric certifications, as the HNZ will support you in achieving this.
The Audiologist provide advice, care and expertise, both in delivering direct patient care and in supporting other staff caring for patients with Audiology requirements and conditions. The focus is for the Audiologist to work in our small and highly motivated audiology team providing services to children, young people and adults as well as supporting our Newborn Hearing Screening (NHS) and Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist services. Directing and supporting the care of patients with Audiology requirements through modelling expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education. Plays an active role in the development and achievement of the strategic direction for the Audiology Services.
This position understands that they are delivering the required MOH service specifications and what is required in regard to this service under the MOH Price Volume Schedule or agreed contractual arrangements, including leading and contributing to the development of Audiology pathways, protocols and guidelines, research and interaction with health promotion teams with a focus on prevention and/or management of care that integrates between the secondary, primary and community health sectors.

- You must be a member of the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS)
- Willingness to be supervised and trained to work towards completion of 3 Cs
- Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
- A customer and team-focused approach to patient care
- High attention and detail pertaining to patient-focused care, equity in delivery of care, patient health education, process, policy, guidelines, communication and documentation
- Be a critical thinker
- Demonstrated ability to deliver optimal patient care
- Flexibility and adaptability even on short notice
- The ability to support other areas within the hospital if required
- Demonstrate Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand - Whanganui District values
- Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
- Hold a New Zealand Driver's License
