**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity**

As the Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for synthesizing the holistic 'town plan' (enterprise architecture) for Te Puni Kōkiri, across the architectural domains of Business, Data and Information, Applications and Technology Infrastructure.

You will ensure that our enterprise architecture aligns with, and enables, the Ministry's strategic priorities, goals, as well as its organisational structure, form and culture across the motu. The architecture will enable the organisation to integrate the operational model of Te Puni Kōkiri with its data and information assets, business systems and technologies, and ensure the Ministry operates effectively as a digital enterprise within the wider digital public service.

You will be responsible for:

- Leading the creation and review of a systems capability strategy that meets the strategic requirements of the business.
- Maintaining an awareness of the global needs of the organisation and promotes (to both information systems and business management) the benefits that a common approach to information and communications technology deployment will bring to the business as a whole.
- Developing and presenting business cases, for high-level initiatives, approval, funding and prioritisation.
- Planning and leading the identification and assessment of new and emerging technologies and the evaluation of the potential impacts, threats and opportunities.
- Collaborating with internal and external parties to facilitate intelligence gathering.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

- Demonstrated current knowledge and experience in developing technology strategy and enterprise architecture.
- A proven track record of making things happen in a solutions-focussed environment.
- Customer service orientation and behaviours putting the internal customers needs first within defined and agreed parameters a must.
- Highly developed and be prepared to discuss complex technical details with internal customers and technology team members in an empathetic manner.
- Must be a team player and be prepared and willing to put the needs of the internal customer and wider team to the front.
- Have advanced troubleshooting skills and be able to multitask.
- Are prepared to share your skills and experience with others to ensure cross skilled cover within the team.
- Be enthusiastic about change and process improvements seeing it as an opportunity to grow and improve.
- Be able to work under reasonable pressure and be willing to step in and put in more time when needed.
- Take a lead when things go wrong, particularly when a major incident is underway, and or when your manager is not available.
- Having a working knowledge and awareness of compliance obligations in respect of the Official Information Act 1982(OIA) that includes processing, compiling, and informing response decisions to OIA requests.

**Education and Professional Affiliations**:

- A tertiary degree in a relevant field with a specialty in IT.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing technical and professional development.
- Active membership and engagement with relevant industry groups and networks is desirable.
