**About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance**

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

**The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale road maintenance contract. We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Tactician to join our team at ASM. As Operations Tactician, you will help to deliver professional incident response services within the ASM to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Auckland Network State highways and motorways. This is a diverse role, requires you to operate as a team to deliver efficient response and management across a range of incidents from vehicle breakdowns to significant crashes, environmental or spill responses, asset damage and adverse behaviour. Collaboration with the Auckland Transport Operations Centre (ATOC) and emergency services is imperative for the success of this role.

**What you will be doing**:
As Network Operations Tactician, you will have a variety of responsibilities including:

- Collaboration and maintaining strong relationships with our transport partners is imperative.
- Respond to incidents on the Auckland System Management Network and manage the impact of those events on the wider network by co-ordinating the various resources in real-time, providing valuable intelligence and insight and informing tactics.
- Maintain network readiness and preparedness in the event of an incident.
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your team, ensuring all work is implemented in a way that risks are identified early, appropriate mitigations are in place, and safety standards are adhered to.
- Develop skills to evaluate incident scenes, conduct risk analysis, and respond with appropriate solutions as required by Officer in Charge (OIC), or Traffic Incident Manager as appropriate, to effect asset restoration without delay.
- Strong computer and IT literacy skills and an ability to multitask.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a dynamic real-time environment.
- Identify and escalate as appropriate any safety issues observed on the network.
- Ensure compliance of all legal requirements, roading and safety codes, and other regulations.

**Monday to Friday**:

- ** 05:00 - 13:00 Morning shift**:

- ** 12:00 - 20:00 Afternoon shift**:

- ** Weekend hours by agreement (Reactive to extraordinary events)**

**About You**:

- 5 to 7 years of experience in road construction, road maintenance or network management.
- STMS Category A, B, C Non-Practicing (desirable).
- Ability to undertake risk assessment, or formal risk management experience or training.
- Appreciation of interpersonal communication (desirable).
- Previous experience working in the high-capacity motorway corridor or roadway (desirable).
- Customer Driven - Clearly understands the internal and external customer and is dedicated to meeting their expectations and requirements.
- Leads Change - Embraces the opportunities represented in change and champions positive change related behaviours in others.
- Accountability - Faces up to problem situations quickly and directly and does not hold back when action needs to be taken.
