**The role**:
As the AA Directions Deputy Editor, you will join a friendly close-knit team assisting with the editorial and administrative production of the magazine and its associated website. You will contribute your expertise and brainstorm new ideas through writing assignments - including initiating story ideas, researching, interviewing and developing feature projects.

Your duties will also include:

- Being responsible for specific sections of the magazine.
- Commissioning stories and images from freelance and contract sources
- Sourcing images and commissioning photographers
- Contributing to the maintenance and development of the website -including content management, social media implementation and initiatives to improve the AA Directions' website experience.
- Managing administration including flowcharts, mock-ups, critical paths and media kits.

**Skills and experience needed**:
You will have a few years' experience under your belt in a magazine/publishing environment with a solid background in journalism.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Able to prioritize work to meet strict deadlines
- Strong team player
- Familiarity with InDesign would be seen as an advantage
- Proficiency in web page building
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
