Ironmaking Shut PME

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.

**What you will be doing**

Reporting to the Ironmaking Maintenance Superintendent, the Ironmaking Shut Plant Maintenance Engineer will minimize plant downtime, deliver innovative delay improvement solutions and facilitate cross functional groups focused on asset life improvement.

The normal working hours for this position is 40 hours per week however to ensure that operational requirements are met, you may be required to attend work outside of your normal business hours.

During critical path shutdowns your normal working hours will be increased.

**What you will bring to the role**
- A relevant Engineering qualification, or Heavy industry trade experience.
- Knowledge of SAP maintenance systems and shut management is an advantage.
- Experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment is preferred by not essential.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety excellence and good environmental practices.
