About the role
The Civil Aviation Authority is seeking a Test Analysts for an exciting long-term fixed term project for one of the highest profile IT projects the Authority has embarked on.

This is a unique implementation with the software only used in a niche market internationally. You will be solely project based, working on the different workstreams with other Test Analysts and Test Manager.

There is an international flavour to this project working with a European vendor and learning from other countries implementation delivery.

While this is an IT project you will be initiating a big change process in the organisation using technology as the enabler.

This is a fixed-term position until June 2024.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for a go getter, with a good personality, and is happy to “to get stuck in” and help in all areas. The EMPIC project is a big project, so we need someone with good attention to detail, and happy to create and execute test cases, and help the other team members with executing their test cases. We work in an Agile environment, you don’t need to have knowledge, happy to mentor someone in aspects of testing if required. They do need some knowledge on what testing is, happy to look at anyone just leaving University or any Testing School.
- You will have in knowledge of all aspects of software testing - testing techniques used to plan and execute tests (functional and non-functional) to verify that the change satisfies specified requirements and to detect errors.
- Ideallly you will have experience working in Agile project delivery environment and familiar with Agile concepts
- Comfortable writing BDD test cases using Gherkin syntax
- You be armed with proven stakeholder management skills and can engage with all levels of an organisation.
- You are highly detailed and focussed, able to pick up errors or omissions, keeping track of details/changes, anticipating consequences of actions.
- You have strong analytical skills and can use them to search for information from a variety of sources, identifying possible cause-effect relationships, drawing correct conclusions based on sound information.
- You can work autonomously, fully responsible for meeting allocated technical and project or supervisory objectives.

The Test Team at CAA is very friendly, so we are also looking for team fit. Must have a good sense of humour and must have the current right to work in New Zealand.

Experience with Microsoft Azure and a tertiary qualification are preferable.

As a result of remedial earthquake strengthening work that needs to take place, our National office staff are currently working remotely and in temporary offices in central Wellington.
