**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

The Section Head will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Cardiac Sonographers and Echo Assistants and trainees for maintaining an efficient high quality technical service to support cardiology service demands.

A key focus is to support, enable and develop the Cardiology Sonography team.

**Ko wai koe | About You**

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Support the Echo team to perform their roles and ensure staff are working at top of scope
- Fosters a team environment and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration
- Demonstrates and maintains clinical skills and knowledge at an advanced level
- Support professional development initiatives and opportunities to meet service needs
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, nurturing the professional growth and development of team members
- Oversee the implementation of quality and safety standards for best practices and clinical audits

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- As a Section Head you will have a strong clinical background
- Your expert communication, interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage people at all levels will see you work effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of teams to provide leadership and clinical support to the staff, patients and their families/whanau.
- By utilising your advanced knowledge and clinical skills in collaboration with your teams, the multidisciplinary team and other external agencies you will contribute to cardiology services provided.
- You can problem solve and manage complex situations as they arise, finding effective solutions.

**Essential skills for the role**:

- Tertiary qualification in an appropriate field e.g. DMU (Cardiac), QUT (Cardiac Echo)
- Tertiary degree in science with major in anatomy and physiology and physics
- Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) registration preferred
- Have relevant technical / medical experience
- Computer literacy
