NZCare and Geneva Community Living have come together to form NZCommunity Living, an organisation dedicated to supporting disabled people in New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services reflect our belief that all people deserve to live fully, have equal opportunities, and achieve their ambitions.

Our teams are our greatest asset and we are committed to employing and training the best people. NZCommunity are looking for energetic and motivated people to support people in their own home.
We are looking for part time Support Workers for our Whanganui Whānau Support services.
**What does a Support Worker do?**
As part of our Whānau Support team, you will work specific rosters designed to ensure our people are supported to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. This is a busy and diverse role supporting people to do the things they want to do, such as getting into work, fitness activities, work around the home and garden, building social connections and learning life skills - the list is endless
Support is provided around the family house and out and about in the local community. Your passion and commitment will help these young people achieve their potential and build a good life.

This is meaningful work with a range of different hours that could fit in with your existing sport, family or study commitments.
**We are looking for people who **has**:
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to get out into the community and positively support activities
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours
- Experience working with youth is advantageous
- Availability to work after school hours and/or weekends
- Full drivers' license essential and access to a vehicle is preferable.
**Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.**
