**Specific Requirements**:
The Technician (IoT) will be responsible for lab equipment and test systems, with a focus on network-connected and “smart” devices. They will assist in the design of test racks, lab benches and power management systems. They will select and procure test equipment, assemble test systems and maintain lab equipment.
The Technician (IoT) will collect requirements from engineers and assist engineers with product testing. They will interact with IT, purchasing and other departments to procure equipment and ensure it can be set up and operated correctly on the business network.
**Experience, Education & Skills**
- Knowledge of common network protocols
- Experience setting up and configuring managed network infrastructure such as routers, switches etc
- Setup, configuration and debugging of IoT devices such as sensors, home automation equipment, smart appliances etc
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system and Bash
- Basic Understanding of Electronics circuits (SCH and PCB’s).
- Experience in trouble shooting & testing of Electronics Products.
- Experience with the standard power measuring and knowledge of oscilloscopes
- Expertise in soldering and de soldering on various electronic components (from Small package to complex package footprints) for SMD and PTH components.
- Knowledge on transformer and inductor winding will be an advantage.
- Managing lab activities, like component stock, material tracking and management.
- Manage capital equipment in lab and take ownership for its inventory and annual calibrations.
- Selection and procurement of lab equipment
- Able keep the lab environment clean and take ownership for keeping all lab equipment in an organized manner.
- Should be able to assemble and disassemble power electronics products or another electrical systems.
- Experience fabricating cable harnesses for power electronics products and DVT test racks or any other electrical systems.
- Experience with mechanical tools for fabrication of device housings, gearplates and general mechanical assembly
**Skills in the following areas will be an advantage**:
- Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, variable speed drives etc
- IPC process certified in PCB soldering will be an advantage.
- Experience writing scripts and/or performing data analysis in Python
- Knowledge of PCB handling guidelines
**Qualification and Previous Experience**:
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and 3+ years’ experience

**About the Christchurch team**
Enphase Energy New Zealand is located in Wigram, Christchurch. We are a Research and Development Centre focused on the design and testing of our cornerstone product, the Microinverter. Enphase New Zealand has a team of around 80 plus engineers and support staff.
