**Responsibilities**:
- Personal Care:
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide support with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individual.
- Cognitive Support:
- Engage individuals in meaningful activities to stimulate cognitive function.
- Implement strategies to enhance memory and cognitive skills.
- Emotional Support:
- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the individual.
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance to alleviate anxiety and confusion.
- Medication Management:
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules.
- Monitor and document any changes in medication effectiveness or side effects.
- Safety and Supervision:
- Maintain a safe environment, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Provide supervision to prevent wandering or unsafe behaviors.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with the individual, their family, and healthcare professionals.
- Keep detailed records of care provided and any changes in the individual's condition.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including doctors, nurses, and therapists.
- Attend and actively participate in care planning meetings.
- Flexibility:
- Adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in responding to the individual's evolving needs.
- Handle unexpected situations with calmness and professionalism.
- Education and Training:
- Stay informed about advancements in dementia care and attend relevant training sessions.
- Share knowledge and insights with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of care.
Minimum of 30 hours a week - hours may vary. $28 per hour.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dementia care or a related field.
- Certification in CPR and basic first aid.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
- Physical stamina to assist with mobility and personal care tasks.
