Transpower is the commercially focused and regulated State-Owned Enterprise that owns and operates the National Grid. At the very heart of the energy sector, we transmit electricity where it is generated to large electricity users and the distribution companies who deliver it to homes and businesses nationwide.

To play an active role in decarbonising the economy and reducing emissions though accelerated electrification, we continue to improve, accelerate, and scale as we look towards rapidly growing demand for clean energy, modern technology, more complex power flows, and changing customer and consumer expectations.

**About the team**

Our Data and Analytics team, located at the centre of our organisation is enabling an eco-system for fact-based decision-making to guide better data driven investment and operational decisions in line with our strategic priorities. Investing in our data, we are creating new value which flows from one part of the business to another.

Examples of this include creating and orchestrating centralised and reusable curated data sets to automatically feed critical decision support models that determine Transpower's asset investments in the next 20 years. The automation provides efficiency savings in Transpower, and data driven models enable more effective decisions to be made when planning asset replacements and resources. You will also get to feed automated Machine Learning models with Data Products and create datasets for model trainings.

**The Opportunity**

You'll work closely with our Data and Analytics Practice Managers to:

- Lead the development of Data Products in our DataOps pipeline that provides high quality data to data scientists and data analysts across Transpower
- Manage, monitor, maintainm and continuously improve the Data Products
- Deliver value through the development and delivery of data and analytics solutions that enable faster and better data driven decisions in various teams at Transpower
- Build organisational capability to develop data management practices in line with global best practice

**What will you bring?**

A results focussed orientation and excellent relationship management, influencing, and communication skills (written and verbal). A degree in Software Engineering, Computing, or an equivalent tertiary qualification will underpin your experience.

**Your CV, cover letter, and previous work experience will clearly articulate**:

- 5+ years of experience in leading a small team or providing technical leadership in data product development, data processing, working with structured and non-structured database systems using data warehouse and data lake
- Experience in designing, building, and testing Data Products and solutions using modern cloud platforms and tools - Snowflake, Azure DevOps, DBT, Informatica, Power BI, AWS
- Strong experience of analysis and problem solving in data engineering context
- Proven experience in establishing best practices in data management
