Casting Supervisor

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.

**What you will be doing**

We are on the lookout for a resilient and enthusiastic Shift Supervisor for our steel making team based at our site in Glenbrook. The primary responsibility of this position is the supervision of the plant and production crew which runs as part of a 7-day, 12-hour shift operation. In this role you will create a positive environment and culture amongst your team while providing leadership in order to achieve the required performance and quality outcomes for the team and the business. This is a fixed-term 12-month position.

**What you will bring to the role**

Preferably you will have leadership experience in heavy manufacturing along with at least two years on the job in a manufacturing, engineering or technology environment. It is important you have mastered the art of making good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience and sound judgement, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork along with a willingness to positively contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.

- Uncompromising attitude towards health and safety

Knowledge of maintenance practices and efficient production & lean manufacturing processes would be a huge plus
