The Nurse Maude Hospice Palliative Care Service provides specialised care and support for patients who have a life limiting illness using a multidisciplinary approach. Care is centred on the needs of patients and their families/whanau and embraces the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual elements of wellbeing - tinana, whanau, hinengaro and wairua - and aims to enhance quality of life.

We have a 2-year fixed term development position (0.8 FTE) for a Specialist Nurse. The intention of this role would be to work in the Palliative Aged Residential Care team being supported to learn expert palliative care skills with an aged care focus. Post graduate study would be strongly encouraged and supported.

The successful applicant will be required to build an in-depth knowledge of specialist palliative care whilst working alongside aged residential care staff providing education, expert advice, coaching and support.
