**About the role**
We are looking for a talented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage our company’s database systems. BAU will be to install and maintain the database software, create storage structures, set up user accounts, debug malfunctioning programs, create backups, and regularly maintain the database security.
**Responsibilities**
- Maintaining and managing database storage solutions.
- Identifying and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
- Planning backup and recovery of the databases.
- Working collaboratively with members across technology group to ensure the reliability and robustness of database services provided as a whole.
- Monitoring and optimising the performance of the databases.
- Maintaining the security and integrity of company databases.
- Supporting continuous improvement in the use and performance of databases.
**Skills and experience**
- Extensive experience in Database Technologies and industry certification.
- Ideally you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a sizeable organisation, including database system operation and familiar with common database mechanisms.
- Experience in Oracle/Microsoft SQL, especially in configuring, optimising, monitoring, backups and fault recovery.
- Familiar with Linux, Shell/Python scripts and Microsoft PowerShell.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- A self-starter, hungry for knowledge, who works well with people and contributes to a positive team culture.
