Join our dedicated team at Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, as we make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community through the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). We are seeking a passionate and driven Pre-Assessment Nurse with a strong understanding of Tikanga and a wide network within the community. By joining us, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care and support to patients within our NBSP, ensuring safe, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based nursing practices.
**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide specialised care and support to patients within the Hauora a Toi Bowel Screening Programme who have received a positive screening result.
- Deliver timely and accurate information, education, and support to patients and their families/whanau.
- Utilize critical reasoning and professional judgment to ensure safe and effective nursing practice.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to meet the needs of patients, ensuring continuity of care and a patient-centred approach.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness in delivering care that aligns with Tikanga principles.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices and contribute to the advancement of the NBSP.
- Collaborate effectively with a small, enthusiastic, and experienced team.
- Work flexibly on shifts between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

**To be successful in the role we require the following**:
- Registered Nurse with a valid registration and a minimum of two years of nursing experience.
- Experience in Acute Care, District Nursing, Community Nursing, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge and understanding of Tikanga and a wide community network is preferred.
