Te Awamutu Team Leader

We are looking for an energetic and motivated team leader for one of our Residential Services in Te Awamutu. You will lead a team in supporting our people to live as independently as possible whilst also providing a safe environment where they can develop confidence, build friendships, and interact within the community. Our youth services specialise in supporting our youth who have an intellectual or physical disability by encouraging and guiding them to achieving their dreams and aspirations.
There will be a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts spanning across the week, so having the flexibility to support your team across a variety of shifts is a key part of this role.
What does the role involve?
A Team Leader assists people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, as well as leading and motivating their team. Your day will involve a range of responsibilities and could include:
Activities at home and in the community that are meaningful and purposeful to the people, including maximizing independence and involving Whanau. Support overall health and wellbeing of our youth and young adults
Household duties including meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal cares
Working together with a team to implement personal support plans consistently, with effective and positive teamwork and communication
Providing people with a warm and nurturing environment to live in, which is inclusive of ideas and feedback so that each person is supported towards their personal goals

What are we looking for?
A level 4 certificate in Health and Wellbeing or a similar qualification
Relevant caregiving experience, including personal cares ideally with youth and young adults
Ideally leadership experience, or a genuine desire to develop your leadership expertise
Ability to tailor your leadership approach to meet individual learning styles
A warm, calm, and friendly personality with a passion for supporting people to achieve positive outcomes for themselves
Previous experience with working with youth and young adults
A full NZ Driver License and ability to transport passengers confidently and safely in our disability vans
