- **About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi**
- Joining our Te Awamutu site as an Environmental Operator means you’ll be a part of our highly engaged Environmental Team and large manufacturing site. You will be playing a key role to ensure we remain environmentally responsible (kaitiakitanga) and compliant for the Co-op and the community that we operate within. This is a unique opportunity that will give you a great foundation to build your career on and will give you exposure to a variety of activities on site.In this varied role, you will work alongside other Environmental Operators and staff from across the Powder, Cream, Transport Depot and Site Services Teams.Daily work will include working alongside Senior Environmental Operators monitoring and operating our treatment plant to ensure river quality discharge is in a sustainable manner. This will include a range of hands-on tasks, completing data entry, basic reporting and sample preparation.
- **This role is rostered with 4 x 12-hour day shifts and 4 rostered days off, 5am - 5pm (Flexible).**

This is a crucial role for the success of our site operation, so you’ll need to be a focused team-player who has strong communication skills and is agile to support a large manufacturing site.
- ***Please note that this is a 10-month fixed term opportunity**

- This role is amongst an ever-changing environment so you will be adaptable, willing to learn and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. To succeed in this role, you’ll have an eye for improvement and great problem-solving skills.
- **We want to hear from you if you**:

- Consider yourself to be a strong team-player who is proactive, has a can-do attitude, and is prepared to get stuck in with a willingness to learn.
- Have good communication and relationship management skills.
- Are tech savvy in MS Suite and data entry, previous experience in SAP/EQual would be beneficial.
- Have hands on experience in a relatable industry, this would be beneficial.
- Have wastewater treatment experience, it is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Have a high degree of fitness and physical capability.
