Mobile Networks Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
What you will learn and contribute to
Technical Manager in MN RBC APJ Market Services Delivery is accountable for management of all the technical management activities defined in customer contract in terms of quality, risk and time from delivery approach preparation through deployment, customer acceptance and care phase. TM acts as primary technical interface and first technical escalation point within the assigned customer projects.
As a Technical Manager, you will:
- Lead and be responsible for all technical deliverables across the project including NPI.
- Manage a technical team of SMEs across design, testing and acceptance and ensure relevant standards are adhered to.
- Be the escalation point for all technical issues for both customer and internal matters.
- Be overall accountable for the technical team governance, capability, allocation and performance.
- Own quality of technical deliverables to customer.
- Manage stakeholder communications, issues and risks (internally and externally).
- Drive local and global technical team and ensures quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Conduct, attend and chair technical project meetings, ensure all project meetings are minuted with clear action, outcome and accountability
- Ensure health and safety standards are upheld and any incident no matter how minor is reported per Nokia process.
- Review the proposed/adopted solutions and assumptions with Solution Managers/Architects.
- Perform a technical risk analysis and plan/implement risk mitigation actions.
- Ensure project schedule is realistic and all technical constraints and risks are managed and mitigated.
- Own the configuration management and fault management in the network.
- Help identify new technical management related opportunities to expand contracts with the customer (e.g. network expansion, new features, software corrections implementations).
Your skills and experience
You have:
- Good Japanese business communication skills (written/verbal) as this role requires extensive customer communication, besides basic English communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications or related field
- 8 years of experience in mobile communication industry including 4G, 5G technology
- e2e understanding across entire solution in a 4G/5G environment
- Good experience in e2e troubleshooting, analysis and managing issues/escalations and driving RCAs
- Excellent customer stakeholder management at technical and project level and effective communication and presentation skills
- Good negotiation skills - able to prioritise and negotiate with customer on business impacting technical issues and decisions.
