**Corporate Solicitor L2 - Six month fixed-term/secondment**
- 6 month fixed term or secondment opportunity
- Based in Wellington or Christchurch

Inland Revenue is seeking an experienced Corporate Solicitor L2 for a six month fixed-term to provide parental leave cover. The fixed term will commence in July 2024 and run through until the end of the 2024.

**Ara Whiwhi Mahi **| The Opportunity**

You will be working in the Corporate Legal Team, reporting to the Corporate Counsel, which is a specialist legal team within Inland Revenue that advises on general legal issues (we don't deal with any tax technical matters). Preferably applicants will be based in either Wellington or Christchurch.

This role will suit someone looking to have interesting, varied and stimulating work. We are open to a secondment from another government agency, or a standalone fixed term employment agreement.

This role is a full-time position, but we will consider part-time hours for the right applicant. We also offer the ability to work from home for part of your working week.

**Mōu | About you**

Applicants will ideally have at least three years’ experience working on employment related matters. The role will generally involve:

- Assessing legal risk and providing sensible solutions.
- Advising on employment investigations.
- Representing Inland Revenue in any personal grievances or disputes, including mediations.
- Providing advice to management and human resources on a wide range of employment related issues.
- Working with external counsel where required.

You will need to hold a current New Zealand practising certificate.
