**The FARMER AUTOVILLAGE Dealer Principals role**

The role is Dealer Principal for the Nissan Dealership. It is a lead from the front role requiring overall involvement in both the leadership of the brand and staff. The Dealer Principal will both lead the dealership and act as New Car Sales Manager. The role has surfaced due to the pending retirement of the incumbent with additional duties involved in the restructured role.

- Achievement of profit and volume targets for the Nissan brand
- Key point of contact for dealings with Nissan NZ
- Leading the Nissan New Car department in its entirety
- Management of new car team
- Management of Nissan used car department with Used Car Manager reporting to the DP.
- Selling Nissan product where appropriate
- Achievement of CSI and championing the Farmer AutoVillage
- Participation assisting 2 service advisors who report directly to the Service Manager
- Participation in assisting the Nissan F&I Manager who largely reports to the Group GM
- Involvement in marketing initiatives for the brand through our group marketing department
- Purchasing of new car stock mix within set budgets
- Ensuring a strong working relationship with the distributor
- Working with the other group DPs to ensure a collective team environment across all brands
- Mentoring the used car manager to ensure correct stock mix, display standards etc
- Ensuring customer satisfaction
- Assisting the used car manager developing the team

**The skills and background sought**

The lead from the front culture that exists within the Farmer AutoVillage culture requires the Dealer Principal to be actively involved in leading all sales operations. Applicants should possess strong Sales Management skills specific to the retail motor industry as well as be conversant in using Autoplay.

Your overall leadership skills will need to be self-evident with ability to lead and mentor other staff members positively. Strong business acumen with the ability to set budgets and competently manage most interactions with the National Distributor are required to enhance this relationship.

As the principal brand ambassador for Nissan, this is a customer centric role. You will need to lead a culture of decency and efficient performance with retail customer interactions, staff and suppliers who you will proactively motivate to perform within the parameters of honesty and integrity.
