Both the Children and Youth Librarian roles are based on Hapori | Community, Level 1, which has a strong community focus with a family-friendly environment. There are spaces and resources for children and youth, two community venues, Playstations, Lego and extensive children's and youth collections. This is a busy and varied place to work. Welcoming and hosting are key components of working on Hapori, and you will need to be highly flexible to deliver excellent customer services across a wide range of activities.

**Children's Librarian**: Full time, Sunday to Thursday, including one evening shift until 8pm.
- This will include delivery of preschool programmes such as Wā Pēpi Babytimes and Wā Kōrero Storytimes

**Youth Librarian**: 30 Hours per week. Wednesday to Saturday, including one evening shift to 8pm.

**About you**:

- Passionate about working with children, youth and their whānau
- Have knowledge of and love for collections, and how to connect customers with reading materials that meet their needs
- Have an understanding and appreciation for diversity
- Have the ability to establish rapport and relate to children, youth, parents, caregivers and their wider whānau
- Can develop and deliver programmes that meet diverse needs, including reading, writing, information seeking, craft and technology
- Able to establish relationships with teachers and schools, and host class and other group visits
- A team player committed to working collaboratively with colleagues from Tūranga and throughout the Christchurch City Libraries network

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, customer-focused, and digitally literate librarians with the skills to provide a welcoming, professional and positive library service.
