**About the Role**
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Midwife Manager (MM) to lead the Women’s Health Outpatient Department providing leadership, vision and focus to this integral part of the wider women’s health service.
**About the Team**
Waikato Women’s Health Outpatient Department is located in the Elizabeth Rothwell Building level B3 and combines both gynaecology and obstetrics clinics, day procedures, including colposcopy and a variety of community services including Whanau Mai.
**About you**
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Recent clinical leadership experience within a secondary/tertiary service.
- Proven experience managing and developing staff.
- Registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and hold a current annual practising certificate.
- Required to have an up to date portfolio providing evidence of participation in the Midwifery Council’s recertification programme.
- Must have achieved leadership level on the Quality and Leadership Programme and/or completed a post graduate certificate or working towards.
- At least five years post graduate clinical experience.
- Proven involvement in change management, clinical audits and quality initiatives.
We are looking for a manager/leader that is able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Manage people, systems, budget and resources within a defined area to ensure that service delivery is of a high standard
- Manage systems, processes and resource that enable staff to meet the needs of the woman/consumer/tangata whaiora in an efficient and effective manner
- Provide clinical leadership for the multi-disciplinary team and inspire the team to provide excellent maternity and Nursing care
- Provide professional and operational leadership to the midwifery and nursing team, developing the midwifery and nursing services and monitoring quality, including standards of practice and service standards
- Contribute to the strategic direction for the clinical care area and the women’s health service.
