**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced social worker to join our team in **Women’s Health**. This dynamic role, based at **Fertility Plus**, will support people who are accessing fertility services. This is a **permanent (0.9) role** based in Te Toka Tumai, Auckland DHB **Women’s Health Social Work team** at **Greenlane Clinical Centre, Fertility Plus**.

The Fertility Social Workers hold an important role in caring for the psychological and emotional needs of patients and families preparing for or undertaking treatment. They work in partnership with a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Embryologists, Lawyers and administrative staff as they provide therapeutic counselling and social work support.

You will be supported to attain membership with Australian New Zealand Infertility Counselling Association. You will also be provided with regular supervision and continuing professional development opportunities.
- Once you have completed a thorough orientation to your new role and become familiar with it, you will join the after-hours, on-call roster
- Substantial training and support specific to after-hours work will be provided to the successful applicant

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Evidence of current registration with the New Zealand Social Workers’ Registration Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate and at least at least 3-5 years Social Work experience
- Commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga in our bicultural hospital environment
- An understanding of counselling processes and approaches which can be used to help support patients experiencing a range of emotional and psychological issues
- A demonstrated the ability to work therapeutically with individuals and couples
- Experience in working with issues of grief and loss
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong cultural knowledge; capacity to work effectively alongside our diverse communities
- Experience in the field of adoption
- Experience working with ethical issues and decision making in unique cases
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively and enthusiastically to a multi-disciplinary team
- The service operates a weekend on-call service, therefore the ability to work out of regular work hours, including weekends is required.

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health Scientific Technical MECA)

Salary Range (Depending on experience): Step 1 $58,513 - Step 9 $87,192
