1.0 FTE permanent position for Intellectually Disabled Persons Health (IDPH)
- A background as a clinician in intellectual disability/mental health and in coaching or teaching other staff or students are both essential.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

This is a varied and interesting role focused on supporting the knowledge and practice of IDPH staff (including NESP’s) who work with people who have an intellectual disability and present with mental health concerns and/or behaviours that challenge. Your role will fall under the umbrella of the Specialist Mental Health Services Training Unit and the IDPH, based at Hillmorton Hospital, however the position is based in IDPH and is also responsible for the development and effective delivery of education for the service as a whole.

You will be supported in your own workforce development (including your development as an educator/coach) by your manager and Professional Leader, and you will be engaged in your own clinical supervision.

**Pehea | About You**

This role has been created as a means to increase the capability and confidence of IDPH staff. You will therefore coach and educate staff in best practice when they work with people who have an intellectual disability and present with mental Health and/or behaviours that challenge.
- Coaching frontline clinicians to provide best practice in the intellectual disability field.
- Planning and delivering education sessions based on adult education principles.
- work with your nurse consultant and manager to develop workforce development plans for staff
- Proactive engagement with IDPH staff and clinical management.

- Depth of knowledge and experience in intellectual disability/mental health and addictions.
- Highly motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in teams and autonomously.
- Working towards or hold a postgraduate qualification.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Engaged in clinical supervision.
