**About us**

CADS is the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand and is committed to empowering the community we serve to reduce the harm associated with substance use and to promote recovery and well-being. CADS provides free community and inpatient AOD treatment from several locations across the Auckland region.

**About the team**

PPS is a multidisciplinary team and offers a mobile, outreach service for people who are:

- Pregnant and/or parents of children under 3 years of age and are
- Experiencing harm associated with their substance use
- And are dis-connected from appropriate health and/or other social agencies

**About the role**

Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland are looking for registered health professionals (Nurse, OT, Social Worker, AOD Clinician) to join our regional Pregnancy and Parental Service (PPS) based in Pt. Chevalier, Auckland.

PPS aims to reduce harm and improve the well-being of infants/children by supporting parents to address any needs and to strengthen the whānau environment. Our focus on the first three years of a child’s life is informed by research indicating the importance of the first 1000 days on social and psychological development.

PPS acknowledges the perinatal period as a specific time that brings not only vulnerabilities but also opportunities for change and aims to work alongside whānau to support their goals.

You would be working in a well-supported team where you will develop expertise specific to whaiora experiencing the above issues, as well as their children and their families/whānau.

This is a case management/key working role, which includes, but is not limited to; assertive outreach, advocacy, assessment and goal planning, service coordination, and safety planning. Our mahi is client-led and based on harm reduction, strength-based and recovery models and frameworks.

**Essential**

A sense of social justice and commitment to working with whaiora from a biopsychosocial approach is required. You will have a non-judgmental attitude, excellent engagement, communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously and within a team. You will also have:

- Clinical experience in the mental health and/or addiction or child health field
- Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work
- Full professional registration
- Full drivers licence
- Legal right to work in NZ

**Preferred**

Experience working with health and social service providers such as Family Start, Oranga Tamariki, Kainga Ora and other community-based NGOs
