T&G is New Zealand's largest producer and packer of hothouse tomatoes. These crops are grown in state-of-the-art environmentally controlled glasshouses, across our 4 North Island sites, and are packaged for both local and export markets 52 weeks of the year.

**About the opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced and capable Glasshouse Technician to join our Tomato Glasshouse team based in Tuakau. This is a full time permanent role with days of work being Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work some weekends depending on workload. The hours are season dependent, so during winter the start time will be around 11am - 12noon start and finishing around 8 or 9pm; however during summer you would start around 2pm and finish sometime between 10pm to midnight.

You will have a keen interest in Horticulture and assist the Grower Manager with the day to day running of the site.

Key responsibilities include;
- Pest and disease control including spraying, following spray recipes to prepare the spray
- Ensuring all spraying equipment is maintained and cleaned
- Monitor the bee hives
- General upkeep of keeping the glasshouse tidy
- Undertake monthly stock takes and also manage any purchasing requirements
- Monitoring of water tank levels and pH readings
- Checking and Receipting of inwards goods
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures
- Operating a forkhoist and ensure team members are adhering to correct procedures when operating a forkhoist

This is a busy role encompassing other related duties, so a flexibility and a good attitude is what we need

**About you**

You will have the following attributes and skills:

- Experience in handling hazardous substances
- Good communication skills
- A positive hard working attitude
- Competent using Word and Excel. SAP knowledge (preferred)
- Full Driver's license (essential)
- An F endorsed forkhoist licence with OSH certificate (preferred)
- Relate to and work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
- A tertiary qualification in Horticulture (preferred) or relevant experience
