**About the role | Mō te tūnga**:
As part of the HR Operations team, the Senior HR Advisor is responsible for providing timely, high quality practical and operational HR advice and support in accordance with company policy, best practice and relevant NZ legislation. The people leaders are mainly based in Wellington at National Office.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Champion and encourage demonstration of Oranga Tamariki's values and cultural competency framework.
- Navigate complex employment relations concerns with a focus on de-escalation and restitution of relationship.
- Provide timely, consistent coaching, advice and support on all aspects of HR to our people leaders. This includes performance management, employment relations, remuneration, recognition and reward, and leadership development and all matters relating to the full employment cycle.
- Developing line management capability, supporting managers with best practice people solutions and the delivery of relevant and practical tools, frameworks and guidelines to enable this.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and Oranga Tamariki policy and procedures, by helping management understand their people risks and how to effectively manage them.
- The Senior HR Advisor will be expected to work collaboratively across the wider People Culture and Enabling services team.
- Mentor other members of the wider HR Team.

**Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring**:

- Significant relevant experience in the HR disciplines with a focus on ER.
- Proven experience in leading/influencing in a comparably complex and sizable environment.
- Ability to coach, and mentor people leaders and other HR Advisory team members to enhance overall capability in HR practice.
- Demonstrated experience working within the industrial relations environment, including experience in the advocacy and negotiation of matters.
- Detailed knowledge of current NZ employment law and HR practices and can relate this to an organisational context.
- Adept at managing multiple pieces of work and prioritizing the demands of a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to grasp complex business issues to contribute effective solutions to drive business success.
- Excellent customer focus - you'll delight in anticipating and meeting customer needs and be a superb relationship manager.
- Sound judgement and uses approaches that are appropriate for the situation.
