We are continuing our search for our new Principal - to lead our vision to educate, empower and nurture students so they can confidently succeed in their world.
This is an amazing opportunity to lead an innovative and progressive kura/school in a beautiful part of New Zealand.
Not only a secondary school, we also offer boarding, international student learning, Nelson College for Girls Preparatory School and the Young Parents’ School - a unique combination of learning opportunities. As a kura with many parts, this makes for an interesting and exciting role. You don’t need to be experienced in all these parts, but you do need great leadership skills.
Our rangatahi/young people are welcoming, open and hardworking. You will be supported by the committed DP and senior leadership team, motivated staff and an experienced and dedicated Board. The Principal network in the region is strong, offering peer support.
Integral to our kura are our PRIDE values:
Positivity | Ngakau reka,
Respect | Manaakitanga,
Integrity | Ngakau pono,
Diversity | Kanorau,
Empathy | Aroha.

We provide an inclusive environment in which Te Tiriti o Waitangi is embedded, and the diversity of our multi-cultural environment is respected and celebrated.
Our rangatahi/students have a strong social conscience. Rangatahi/student initiative and leadership is a strength where rangatahi/students lead their peers in activity weeks and events. The strong Enviro Group has gained a Silver Enviro School award and recognition is given to rangatahi/students for their successes in the arts, culture and sports.
