7+ years experience working in areas related to security assurance, such as cybersecurity, auditing, security architecture, regulatory affairs or public sector agencies involved in cybersecurity management.
- Degree or equivalent education in computer science, information systems, cyber security and related areas.
- Experience working with governance, risk and compliance programs that directly involve interaction with regulatory bodies.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Security Assurance professional that will own strategic engagements with regulators, international standards development organizations and customers on topics related to the entire range of cloud security assurance in New Zealand.

Key job responsibilities
- Act as a regulatory expert for AWS, customers, auditors, regional and national regulations on cloud services, cybersecurity and operational resiliency in New Zealand, with cross support for the ANZ region.
- Work with AWS public policy to review legislative and regulatory initiatives in NZ, with potential impact on AWS and our customers.
- Develop and execute long-term projects and regulatory initiatives, which can be broad in scope and complexity, for AWS and our customers.
- Identify regulatory trends in the region and provide analysis of impact and risk.
- Create, optimize, and support cross-functional working groups and projects.
- Use domain expertise to develop thought leadership material on cloud and emerging technologies for regulators and internal customers.
- Manage tight deadlines and drive results while being extremely detail-oriented.

A day in the life

**On a daily basis you will**:

- Work with extended teams in interacting with regulatory bodies.
- Develop impact assessments accordingly.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to customers and regulators.

About the team
The mission of Regulatory and Industry Security Engagement (RISE) is to develop a program that builds trust in diverse industries and accelerates the adoption of AWS by understanding and driving AWS initiatives to exceed the security assurance expectations of regulators and customers.
Our program includes relationships with supervisory authorities and government agencies to help them understand, accept and approve our approach to “Security of the Cloud” in line with policies, standards and regulations. We also work with customers to overcome perceived regulatory barriers and as a result create documentation to facilitate discussions with sales teams and security architecture.

- Consultative experience in cloud migrations with a focus on security or architecture risk assessment.
- Demonstrate discretion and sound security practice for handling sensitive government and confidential customer data.
- Detailed understanding of New Zealand privacy and security requirements across the country's diverse regulated sectors of government, financial services and critical infrastructure.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
- Experience working directly with leading government officials, board of directors and regulatory policy executives, finance, technology, etc.
- Possess or have the ability to hold a National Security Clearance.
