We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

**He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**

The Nurse Practitioner - Mātanga Tapuhi role will work within a model that delivers patient care across the full range of presentations within a supportive team environment. The role will also join the Emergency Department leadership group to advance quality care and education in the Emergency services.

A key focus for the Bay of Plenty District Health Board is to build a sustainable workforce at Whakatāne Hospital whilst achieving equity in health outcomes for our Eastern Bay community.

This is a permanent 1.0FTE position, working 80 hours per fortnight.

- Registered as a Nurse Practitioner with authorised prescribing and hold a current practising certificate
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of our local community, the health needs and aspirations of the people that present to the service.
- Able to uphold our CARE Manaakitanga values that are integral to our practice in the ED.
