Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi is a vibrant and exciting tertiary education institution, which offers a range of programmes from certificates to doctorates, across a range of disciplines.

We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with sound professional expertise and/or experience in the delivery of Tikanga and Law at post graduate level. Pourewa Tikanga Māori me te Ture (Post Graduate Diploma in Tikanga and Law) is a new programme focusing on tikanga as part of legal practice in the first instance.

This position also works closely with the Head of School - Indigenous Graduate Studies to ensure quality management of the programme is undertaken and improvement opportunities identified and acted on.

Our successful applicants will have:

- Masters degree in Te Reo Māori/Tikanga Māori
- Bachelor of Laws
- Teaching qualification (desired).
- Relevant expertise in Te Reo and Tikanga Māori in legal contexts, that can be applied to postgraduate teaching and learning.
- At least five years relevant tertiary teaching experience in the prescribed curriculum areas of Te Reo Māori/Tikanga Māori and/or Law (desired).
- Expert practitioner - ki tai, ki ngāhere, ā wairua Māori.
- Previous experience in a role with a focus on educational quality improvement and quality assurance.
- Proven record of research experience.
- A current unrestricted private motor vehicle licence.
- Strong networks in the Māori legal profession.

Fluency in Te Reo Māori is essential for this position.
