**Te kowhiringa | The Opportunity**

We have THREE vacancies available, due to an increase in workload. As a Stormwater Worker, you’ll be working as part of a dedicated utilities maintenance team delivering the most efficient and quality driven service possible to our client - Auckland Council. As well as also ensuring our waterways and wider Stormwater network are kept free from rubbish & other contaminants Help us keep Aotearoa’s oceans clean.

Your key duties will include routine and planned maintenance of Auckland’s Northwest Stormwater network. You will work within a committed team to collectively ensure our client's long-term goals are reached.

Each day will be different, with jobs varying in size, difficulty & location so you definitely won’t get bored, and your skills will develop as you go. You could be doing pipe connections, repairs, maintenance, cleaning + much more. The team you will be joining look after Stormwater issues from investigation through project management and repairs until completion. You will gain experience in all aspects of Stormwater maintenance with Downer.

This role is part of an on-call roster, which is currently around 1 week every 5 or 6 weeks. But this can chop and change depending on seasons, weather events, staffing requirements & what the wider water team is up to.

**Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills**
- At least 1 years’ experience in a drainage environment would be ideal, however if you have transferrable skills from civil works, waterway works, plumbing etc.
- You must have a minimum - Full, class 1 licence.
- A class 2 licence + W, T, R endorsements would be extremely beneficial.
- A good level of physical fitness.
- Be self-motivated & driven to succeed.
- Be a team player with a positive and can-do attitude & strong work ethic.
