- **Awesome range of employee benefits**

**About WEL Networks**

At WEL Networks we deliver innovative energy solutions which enable our communities to thrive and keep the lights on 24/7.

With around 300 employees, we've been serving the Waikato for 100 years, distributing power from the national grid, connecting over 160,000 people to electricity services.

Based in Hamilton, we play an essential role in the region's economic and social development by identifying and investing in new technologies that will modernise our network and future-proof our region. We’re excited to be broadening our horizons as we diversify from a traditional lines company into a multi-utility.

**What does an Arborist in our industry?**

Working in our Vegetation Team, you be responsible for trimming or removing vegetation and/or trees from within our network to keep our power lines clear and our community safe. You will learn to operate, prepare, and maintain a range of arborist’s tools, and gain a thorough understanding of vegetation management.

We are looking for people with the attitude and drive to join and learn from our highly skilled team, to become a qualified Utility Arborist (NZQA Level 4).

**You will need to have**:

- A strong commitment to ensuring the Health & Safety of yourself, your team and the public who use our network
- An interest in vegetation management and arboriculture
- Basic chainsaw operation qualification preferred but not essential
- Some level of workplace experience
- Full drivers licence
- The drive and motivation to advance your career in the industry in general and in WEL in particular

**Staff Benefits**

Full training costs will be covered.

At WEL, we look after our people - from full medical, life and income protection insurance cover, and a variety of flexible working options, to the safest equipment and plenty of upskilling opportunities. We will also help you with relocation expenses when moving into the Waikato.

We are committed to making sure our people go home safe every day, and with a drug and alcohol-free worksite we will require you to undertake testing as part of your pre-employment health assessment as well as participating in our annual health assessment programme.

**How to Apply**

If this sounds like the right fit for you, don’t delay - come and join us

**We will be advertising through the holiday period and looking to start our new trainees in February 2023
