Our water infrastructure team is involved in delivering some of the most exciting, regional, national and international transformational infrastructure projects across wastewater, flood management, highway drainage, urban stormwater, irrigation, water supply, and raw water.The scope of technical work for this role has a focus on stormwater providing drainage and runoff treatment skills working along-side our hydraulic modelers undertaking, all stages of water infrastructure design for stormwater across all modes of transport and in the urban environment.This is a unique opportunity to grow a professional portfolio of challenging water infrastructure projects for a range of public sector clients. You will be a part of our industry-leading water business and lead and contribute to the delivery of a wide range of sustainable and resilient projects that provide great outcomes for our clients, our local community and AECOM.The Principal Water Engineer performs complex technical tasks on medium to large-scale projects that deliver high quality outcomes for AECOM clients. This role may also have leadership and supervisory responsibility for small teams.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**: A minimum of 10+ years’ experience.Fundamental understanding of 12D design software.Good understanding of software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Culvertmaster, Flowmaster, HEC-RASAn appreciation of how 2D and 3D dynamic water modelling software could enhance efficient drainage design.Experience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, stormwater treatment and runoff management devices.Good technical understanding of Hydrology and Hydraulics.Familiar with NZTA and Council guidelines.Background includes transport or urban development project background with exposure across all 3 waters projects.Able to use all Microsoft Office packages. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Engineering degree in one of the water engineering related disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Natural Resources or similar)
