**The role**
We are thrilled to offer a rewarding position for a seasoned **HSQE Advisor** to become part of our Transmission team stationed in Auckland. In this role, you will see majority of your time spent project based, providing safety leadership, risk, assurance activities and mentoring to staff and contractors. Reporting to the HSQE Manager - Transmission and Central and as part of an established team, the HSQE Advisor will provide mentoring, technical knowledge, and visible safety leadership. You'll prioritize safety, assist with work plans, and ensure thorough completion of relevant field paperwork.
- Being the HSQE Advisor, you will also be responsible for:_
- Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders to ensure Northpower’s HSQE management systems are in place and working effectively
- Lead and facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and assurance activities
- Foster a culture where employees are engaged and feel empowered to make decisions that ensure they keep themselves, their colleagues, contractors, the public and the environment free from harm.

Ideally, you will be an experienced health and safety leader, and preferably within a contracting environment. A HSQE background in electricity, large projects, civil and/or construction is advantageous but not essential.
- Additionally, possessing the following would be beneficial:_
- Experience in root cause investigation analysis methodologies, managing audit programmes, data and risk analysis
- Proven training and presentation ability
- Tenacity in taking problems through to successful outcomes despite potential barriers
- Ability to build trust and maintain strong collaborative working relationships both in professional and front-line field environments
- A team player with a great ‘can do’ attitude
- Full clean Class 1 driver’s licence
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Ability to motivate and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust
**_ IOSH, NEBOSH certificate or Level 6 Health and Safety Diploma is highly advantageous but not essential._**
