**About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga**:
We are looking for two enthusiastic, hands on, technically minded individuals. You will maintain equipment and assist with the design, construction, and deployment of field equipment for Hydrological resilience projects. Good organisational skills, an ability to work in both a team or alone and an eye for detail are all required. We want people who use initiative, are committed to working in a safe manner, and an ability to effectively work to a scheduled programme. You will need a positive work ethic, a can-do attitude, and have the physical ability, energy, and enthusiasm to get the job done.

The day-to-day role involves a range of field-based site constructions and maintenance work in locations throughout our Hawkes Bay region. Work may also include, tree felling, weed spraying, track maintenance, fencing repairs and scrub baring.

**About you | E pā ana ki a koe**:
You're the right person for this role if you have:

- A relevant qualification or trade certification (or equivalent hands-on experience) ideally in environmental monitoring or a related field.
- Confidence working around water environments and experience with technical installations and maintenance would be an advantage. You will have a broad range of practical construction/fabrication skills.
- Hold clean full car driver’s licence ideally with 4WD experience.
- Physical capability for fieldwork and willingness to travel throughout the region, including overnight stays as/when required.
- Ability to safely use both power & hand tools for site construction (mainly in timber) and experience with a chainsaw and scrub bar, fencing, and weed spraying would be an advantage.
- Have an aptitude for learning and continuous improvement.
- Able to plan and work unsupervised.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Have good communication skills and a level of comfort dealing with the public should the need arise.
- Appreciation for Te Ao Māori perspectives and commitment to environmental protection.
