Overview:
Newshub is part of Discovery's channel Three in New Zealand and provides news across a range of platforms.

Newshub Digital is the online part of Newshub and provides news for Kiwis 365 days a year.

Digital is a key part of Newshub, providing news, features and information outside of the TV bulletins.

The money section is an integral part of the Newshub website and provides financial advice and news across key sectors.

The money editor shapes the section and decides what should be covered.

The money editor works within the wider online news team but with a focus on money and finances. This can range between covering a rise in the OCR to helping people budget through a lockdown.

**Responsibilities**:

- Source and write stories under the money umbrella that engage with the audience
- Set up and maintain key contacts in the financial world
- Provide easy to read stories on financial issues that affect Kiwis - housing cost, mortgage rates etc
- Bring a passion and desire to educate and advise people on a topic that affects everyone
- Work with the wider digital team on any financial breaking news
- Identify appropriate material for social channels and work with the social team
- Ability to work independently on complex topics and flexibility to work varied shifts and hours when required
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
- Close attention to detail

Qualifications:

- The applicant should have at least two years relevant experience and have a sound knowledge of finance
- Previous newsroom experience would be beneficial
- Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
- Preferably a journalism degree or postgraduate qualification
