**He angitūtanga | About the role**

How would you like to work amongst one of Aotearoa's most stunning and popular sites - Mōrere Hot Springs?

As Ranger Heritage & Visitors for the Mōrere Hot Springs, you will play a key role in the smooth operation and great visitor experience at the facility. You will lead facility maintenance and monitoring; working closely with others in the team to maintain the operation of hot and cold pools, grounds, tracks, gardens, water and wastewater systems and associated buildings. You will also support the supervisor to lead the team at site as 2IC.

This is a full-time role working five days a week including weekends.

The position will be focussed on:

- Regular maintenance and monitoring work programme across the Mōrere Hot Springs and Scenic Reserve facility infrastructure and grounds.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery, plumbing, and water systems while overseeing facility upkeep and coordinating with contractors.
- Monitor and maintain operational stock, including; inventory levels, procurement via SAP, invoicing, EFTPOS and ensuring timely restocking of retail items and maintenance/operational equipment.
- Providing operational support to the Supervisor; overseeing daily activities, maintaining equipment and facilities, managing staff schedules, assisting with budgeting and financial records.
- Delivering customer service that provides high satisfaction, resolving complaints.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations through regular inspections, risk assessments, and implementation of safety protocols and emergency procedures.

If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:

- Practical work experience in outdoor environments
- Experience leading/supervising and training staff, managing schedules and tasks with a collaborative approach
- Great planning and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver programmed work within budget, standards and timeframes
- Ability to understand, communicate and implement Standard Operating Procedures and detailed specifications
- High level of computer literacy skills, with capability to embrace changing technology and processes
- Contractor management and budgeting skills
- Excellent communication & relationship management
- Physically fit, self-motivated with a commitment to health & safety
- Full NZ Driver's license

Desirable:

- Carpentry/construction/practical skills
- GrowSafe certification
- Chainsaw experience and qualifications
- 4WD experience
- Scrub-bar/weed eater experience
- SAP experience
- Basic plumbing and electrical skills & experience

The Regional Operations Group is responsible for delivering conservation work on the ground through our biodiversity, recreation/historic, community engagement and visitor centre teams.

The salary range for this position is **$60,314.00 - $75,603.00 pro-rata **with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
