**You’ll also have the following**:

- A completed PhD or substantial industry experience
- A research agenda and a developing record of scholarly research and publication and/or creative work
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with tauira and kaimahi from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Confident qualitative and/or quantitative Rangahau skills and understanding of kaupapa Māori approaches to Rangahau
- Significant experience in conducting and leading large Rangahau projects
- Demonstrated ability in funding proposal writing with a successful and proven track record

You will design, develop and carry out research projects that support TWoA’s goal of whānau transformation through education, provide high quality leadership to the Rangahau programme within Te Manawahoukura, and provide support and mentorship to kaiako across the Wānanga. The role will entail 85% Rangahau (research) and 15% supporting and mentoring other kaiako to build their Rangahau capability.

You can be based anywhere across the motu though Te Manawahoukura will have hubs in Porirua, Kirikiriroa and Mangere.

**Key responsibilities of the role are to**:

- Scope and develop Rangahau proposals
- Lead and manage Rangahau from design, data collection and analysis relevant to expertise
- Publish Rangahau findings in leading journals and report writing, guided by up-to-date knowledge in the field
- Train and mentor kaimahi, including supporting Kairangahau and other users in TWOA Rangahau methods and methodologies
- Lead a Rangahau community of practice focused on your area of expertise
