Toi Ohomai delivers quality vocational education and training to both domestic and international students, across five main campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupō, Tokoroa and Whakatāne, and numerous delivery sites across the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.

Toi Ohomai is now a division of Te Pūkenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology and part of a transformational change unifying all 16 Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics across Aotearoa; together with other work-based, provider-based and online learning. Collectively we will be NZ’s largest tertiary education provider with national and regional reach enabling learners and employers to move seamlessly between workplaces, other educational offerings and locations as their needs change.

We are seeking a Systems Librarian to join our friendly and supportive team. This position can be based at the Windermere campus in Tauranga or the Mokoia campus in Rotorua. Some travel to other campuses will be required.

The Systems Librarian contributes to the success of ākonga and kaimahi by managing library systems and technology, and is a member of the Knowledge & Information Services Team. Main responsibilities include:

- Maintain access and authentication methods.
- Contribute to the development of library systems and technology in Te Pūkenga network.
- Work with kaimahi and technology partners to provide interconnected library systems and technology.
- Work with kaimahi and technology partners on upgrades and tests of library systems and technology.
- Provide training and support for kaimahi on library technologies.
- Assist with the management of the institutional research repository.
- Assist with the administration of library database subscriptions.
- Ensure that the development of library systems and technology is focused on equitable principles.
- Participate in team activities such as library help desk and collection maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of, and preferably experience working with current library systems and technology.
- Knowledge of open-source software.
- Understanding of metadata standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
