In the community, you will be undertaking diabetes retinal screening to assess and report on the eyes of people living with diabetes. You will be attending different locations across the Counties Manukau catchment each week, bringing variety to your day. Within the Hospital team, you will be responsible for conducting visual function evaluations of patients, in coordination with the Consultants, with a goal of providing accurate, efficient and a high standard optometric and other ophthalmic assessments.
We are looking for a highly motivated team member who demonstrates empathy, is willing to undertake training and learn new skills, be able to work well within a culturally diverse environment and have good computer, administrative and time management skills.

Training in all areas will be provided. The preferred applicant, while they may not have worked in healthcare before, must have a passion to learn and to help others. You will need to have a full or restricted, clean driver’s licence. Work days are between Monday - Friday with some occasional weekend work, and the operating hours are between 8am - 4:30pm.

- At least two years’ experience working in a healthcare setting
