Position Description | Psychologist

We currently have an opportunity for a Psychologist with our Cancer Psychological and Social Support (CPSS) service at Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti.

This position involves working with consumer groups and the community and is focused on assisting individuals and their families/whanau to deal with the Psychological impacts of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Key accountabilities for the role include:

- to coordinate assessments and services as well as providing psychology and support to those people dealing with complex and high need emotional issues and changes in their lives as a result of high suspicion of cancer and, a cancer diagnosis and need for treatment
- working collaboratively with the Regional cancer service, Oncology & Cancer Social worker and other Te Manawa Taki cancer psychologists and social workers to ensure service to our patients
- develop and maintain relationships with other health professionals and organisations
- be an expert resource providing guidance, advice and education to patients, family, whanau, students, staff and health professionals

**Moū - About you**

To be a successful applicant you must:

- Registered with Psychologists Board of New Zealand
- Current annual practicing certificate
- Have a passion to work in a health setting
- Current clean and full drivers license
- Experience in family therapy/counselling techniques
- An ability to administer standardised assessments
