Senior Analyst Research & Evaluation - Fixed Term, 12 Months

Fixed Term (12 months) position to cover Parental Leave

What do we do?
Work with a supportive team of people with different backgrounds who share your love of telling stories using evidence. Work closely with your manager and senior leaders to use research insights to support better decision making about our core social services.
By collaborating on work with experts in their own areas across MSD and external agencies you will be producing outputs that paint the picture of the difference made to New Zealanders and help shape policies of the future.

Day-to-day work will range from working with others to understand their evidence needs and exploring methodologies to meet those evidence needs, undertaking analysis, and communicating our findings. There will be a balance of contributing to longer term projects and responding to quick turn-around ad-hoc requests.
Who are you?
- You are motivated by the core social issues facing Aotearoa New Zealand and want to work in an environment focused on providing better services to all New Zealanders.
- You bring a creative and collaborative approach to designing research projects and sharing research findings with a range of audiences.
- You have sound research and analysis skills for instance an expert in Mātauranga Māori, quantitative, or qualitative analysis.
- You have an understanding of intervention logics, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) frameworks
- You are committed to building your knowledge of te ao Māori, te reo Māori, tikanga, and how Te Tiriti o Waitangi applies to the work that we do
- You like working closely with a supportive team, problem solving with others, and celebrating our achievements together
- You are adept with building working relationships, facilitation and be comfortable running a procurement process.
- As our team development is important, seniors are expected to mentor others in the team especially in research and evaluation methods including quantitative or qualitative methodologies.
- As telling the story is the key to our work, you'll be a great communicator capable of sharing insights to a wide range of audiences through different channels, writing being a key one.
- You have strong experience leading or managing project-based evaluation or research projects

Position Description

Remuneration

The salary range for the Senior Analyst position is $94,834 - $115,908 in line with proven skills, experience and performance.
