Join an ambitious and transformative infrastructure programme led by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). This capital programme, designed to deliver unprecedented efficiency in transport infrastructure, aims to achieve in 15 years what traditionally could take decades.Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are building an engaged and experienced client team and accordingly are seeking an experienced and visionary Programme Delivery Lead to manage and direct the programme management function in support of the Programme Director. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of the programme outcomes, including the development and management of robust and streamlined strategies, tools, and processes, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Provide strong, collaborative leadership across multiple workstreams, driving the design, planning, and delivery of the project with pace and an appropriate focus on detail where needed
- Programme Strategy: Develop and manage comprehensive programme-level strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery to scope, cost, time, and quality performance targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enable delivery of the overall project programme, ensuring alignment with NZTA objectives and programme outcomes.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate programme risks, ensuring adherence to strategic risk management protocols.
- Programme Governance: Lead programme reporting and support governance activities, ensuring effective financial management and alignment with NZTA's broader strategic goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Embed a learning culture that promotes innovation in programme delivery, health and safety, and ongoing efficiency.

- Proven experience in leading large and complex infrastructure programmes, with a strong track record in programme and project management, governance reporting, and strategic risk management. This includes the ability to lead and inspire a high performing Programme Management team.
- A reputation for building strong and enduring positive relationships in a complex stakeholder environment
- Proven experience of being part of complex multi-disciplinary transport project leadership teams and being part of wider project and/or business leadership teams
- In-depth knowledge of effective programme procurement and delivery strategies, with extensive experience in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead in complex organizational environments, with strong strategic analysis and communication skills.
- Experience in the transport infrastructure sector, preferably in a PPP environment (or similar) with a sound understanding of governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Tertiary qualifications, preferably at the postgraduate level, in a relevant discipline, with a professional project/programme management qualification highly desirable.
- Innovative mindset with proven ability to challenge the status quo and successfully implement change to process and outcomes in this space, including bringing people along on the journey
