An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Senior Solutions Architect with excellent architecture, design, technical analysis, and relationship skills to join the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Working collaboratively with a diverse group of business users, technology and delivery functions, you will have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge to the many solutions created and implemented across a wide range of departments.

**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
The Senior Solution Architect will work as a trusted adviser on projects to ensure high standards are maintained for solutions delivered to business groups across the Ministry. This role sits within the Digital, Data & Insights group and will deliver services to various business domains across the enterprise.

We are looking for a solid track record and in-depth understanding of architecture principles, design considerations, architecture decisions and risk management with experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams and in primarily outsourced environments. As an experienced Senior Solution Architect, you will take ownership of the solution architecture, design and delivery of technology projects primarily working with vendor partners to ensure successful implementation.

- Several years of experience in solution architecture for multiple medium to enterprise scale mission critical systems
- Architecting cloud services and platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft PowerApps and Dynamics 365.
- Infrastructure, network, security and integration design and implementation.
- Database and data warehouse design, implementation, and transformation, analytics, and reporting.
- Solid high level and detailed design documentation skills demonstrating realisation of both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ability to produce sound solution options assessments, proofs of concept and architecture concept documents.
- Providing technical leadership and overall solution guidance working with vendors and developers, business SMEs and technical specialists.

Your workload will be constant and varied, and as we move through a life cycle of programmes you will need to be able to keep pace with both the volume, and time pressures, of a high performing team. You will be part of, and supported by, a large and talented Architecture team who collectively provide strategic, technology and governance guidance.
