Sterile Sciences Unit has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Loan Coordinator to join our Perioperative Department at Hawkes Bay District Health Board.
The purpose for this role is to check in/out all loan equipment and implants that arrive to the hospital from medical companies and required for specialised surgery. You work closely with the theatre teams to ensure they have equipment in a timely manner.
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people - internally within unit and externally with medical equipment suppliers
- Excellent relationship skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships in a complex environment
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise your own workload, as well as work as part of the team
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent computer and problem solving skills
An understanding or experience within the Sterile Sciences field would also be an advantage, but not essential. This is designated senior position within sterile sciences.
We as a Perioperative Unit are currently in the process of expanding the unit as a whole. The new loan room has been completed and work within the Sterile Sciences unit is about to begin in the next couple of weeks. On completion of the expansion we will go from 7 theatres to 8.
