We are seeking a proactive and motivated isotope hydrogeologist at the mid-career level for a permanent position at the GNS Science Avalon office, Lower Hutt, Wellington.
The role
About You
- Essential_
- Ph.D. in isotope hydrogeology, water chemistry, isotope geochemistry, noble gas mass spectrometry or a related discipline in the groundwater sector
- Experience working with hydrological and/or noble gas measurements including operation, maintenance and data quality analysis
- Familiarity working a laboratory with analytical equipment; in particular high-vacuum systems, gas-source mass spectrometry, and gas chromatography
- A valid full driver’s licence
- Desirable_
- Advanced IT skills in Windows, geo-spatial (ArcGIS) and coding packages (experience using LabVIEW to control scientific equipment is desirable)
- Experience writing research proposals
- Experience working in collaboration with stakeholders and end users
The position is permanent, full time (38 hours per week) employment and will be based at our site in Avalon, Lower Hutt, Wellington.
