Te Tumu Waiora - heading towards wellness - is a model of primary mental health care aiming to provide anyone experiencing mental distress or addiction challenges with increased access to convenient, high quality and person-centred care and support at their general practice.

**Mō**te**tūnga**| Role Overview**

Pegasus Health is seeking several MātangaWhakapiki Ora (Health Improvement Practitioners) on a contract-for-service basis to ensure continuity of the Te Tumu Waiora model in general practice when permanent HIPs are on extended or unexpected leave. You will:

- Working directly with individuals and their families to improve mental health and wellbeing using the FACT model.
- Delivering brief, consultation-based services and behavioural interventions to both general practice team members and patients for a range of mental and physical health conditions.
- Utilising an integrated ‘Stepped Model of Care’ to meet client needs and facilitate movement between general practice services and community resources, as needed.

Key Contract for Service Delivery Requirements
- Worksite Requirements: Services are to be provided at the designated General Practice site. You must comply with the specific location’s WorkSafe requirements and onsite visitor protocols. The HIP Team Lead will support your integration into the general practice team.
- Service Duration: Services are offered on a half-day or full-day basis, with the duration of coverage determined in partnership with the HIP Team Lead supporting the General Practice.
- Scope of Services: As experienced and registered mental health clinicians, HIPs work with individuals, whānau, and groups across all ages to address issues impacting their health and wellbeing.
- Supervision Requirements: Regular clinical supervision is mandatory, which is your responsibility and must be arranged at your own cost.

**Mōu**| About you**
- You must be a registered health professional with a current practicing certificate without restrictions/ conditions; Health Practitioners Competency Assurance(HPCA) Act,DAPAANZ,Social Work Registration Authority (SWRB), or New Zealand Association of Counsellors(NZAC) with Te Whatu Ora Accreditation.
- And be trained and endorsed as a HIP via Te Pou. You must also receive external supervision regularly.
- Have at least 3+ years of experience working within a counselling/mental health environment (including drug and alcohol support services) delivering talking therapies for example ACT, CBT, FACT.
- Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to provide relief HIP support to the community, build and develop relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
