We have an exciting opportunity for a registered Social Worker to join our supportive team in the Mental Health Service for Older People Inpatient team at Tauranga Hospital. The role will be part of our mahi of supporting Tangata Whaiora and their whānau in their journey to wellness.

This is a mixed ward, with an average length of stay of 21 days, so you will be able to learn about a variety of complex medical issues along with different treatments available. You will be provided with e-learning opportunities, in class education and support to undertake postgraduate education specific to this role.

The focus is to deliver high quality care to the growing population in the Bay of Plenty. At the heart of our services are our CARE values - Compassion, All-one-team, Responsive and Excellence. This is a permanent 0.5 FTE position, working 40 hours per fortnight.

**He Kōrero mōu - About You**

The successful applicant will be an experienced mental health Social Worker who has a passion for working collaboratively with a wide range of people and services. Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate mental health experience, preferably experience in older person's mental health

To be successful in this role you will have an excellent understanding of mental health conditions, the Mental Health Act, PPPR Act, understanding of capacity assessment work up, a range of therapeutic modalities, dementia/delirium care.
