We are a bustling motel, caf and bakery located in Northland, currently seeking two or more dedicated Baker Assistants to join our team. As a Baker Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food while adhering to health and safety regulations and upholding our shop standards.

Our motel, caf and bakery are offering two or more full-time permanent positions, guaranteeing 30 hours per week with a maximum of 40 hours. The work will be based in two locations in Maungaturoto and Kaiwaka, with shifts scheduled between 4:30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Sunday. Please note that you will be required to work on weekends and all public holidays as we are a motel business to ensure smooth operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Gathering food ingredients for cooking and serving
- Preparing pots and pans for cooking
- Weighing and measuring ingredients for baking
- Washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and dicing ingredients for cooking and serving
- Assisting the baker in making pies, sweets, and cooking hot food
- Preparing and cooking meat sauce gravy for the baker
- Storing food supplies, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware in designated storage areas such as refrigerators, cupboards, and pantries
- Cleaning floors and shop windows at the end of each shift
- Following food safety and hygiene practices, including emptying the rubbish bin
- Assisting in making bread and donuts
- Assisting in adjusting pie fillings for daily sales

**Qualifications/Work Experience**:

- No prior work experience is n however, a passion for working in a bakery environment with high-heat conditions is desired

- Physical fitness to handle heavy ingredients and stand for extended periods
